Re: Thanksgiving Plans

    • Are you hosting? nope
    • Are you cooking anything? If so, what?
    • Any special Thanksgiving traditions? turkey sandwiches for dinner, black friday shopping with my mom
    • What dish are you most looking forward to? my favorite is my mom/grandmom's sausage stuffing.  however, none of that this year since I'll be at the in-laws, and they're getting the package from Wegman's. also love the mashed sweet potatoes with marshmallows.

  • Are you hosting? Nope...we always go to my brother's house

Are you cooking anything? Yes If so, what? I'll make 2 kinds of Mac and Cheese...one regular and one with lobster

Any special Thanksgiving traditions? food related that's probably gross to most people but I mix my mashed potatoes with my cole slaw and I only do it on Thanksgiving (namely because I probably never have the two available together at the same time!).

What dish are you most looking forward to? We have a huge feast but I'm probably most looking forward to dark meat turkey, lobster mac, beef tendorloin and my mom's cole slaw.   Oh, and wine!!

    • Are you hosting? No, although DH almost volunteered us. I quickly vetoed.
    • Are you cooking anything? If so, what? Green bean casserole and sauerkraut
    • Any special Thanksgiving traditions? Start to decorate for Christmas this weekend
    • What dish are you most looking forward to? I mix turkey and sauerkraut into my mashed potatoes and pour gravy over it. It's the perfect mix of salty, savory, creamy, tender goodness! Also, DH is going to fry a small chicken and I've never had it like that before.

    • Are you hosting? We are - for the 1st time.
    • Are you cooking anything? If so, what? We tried to keep it simple and have us only do a few things and have my mom and MIL make some side.  Its gotten a little complicated b/c my mom had surgery last weekend, so she can't really do much.  Right now, DH is making a turducken, gravy and stuffing, I'm making pumpkin pie and I bought premade mashed potatoes and rolls, my MIL is bringing greenbeans, corn casserole and sweet potatoes and my sister is bringing an 2nd dessert.
    • Any special Thanksgiving traditions? not really
    • What dish are you most looking forward to? I'm still a little leery of the turducken.  I LOVE corn casserole though.

    • Are you hosting? Nope!  My brother and SIL are hosting their first family thanksgiving in 5 years (now that they are back in the state) so we are headed down there.  Their best friends from his residency program are coming for the week so it should be fun.
    • Are you cooking anything? If so, what? I'm bringing the standard green bean casserole.  It's so overdone but I love it haha.
    • Any special Thanksgiving traditions? Not really I dont think? This is our first thanksgiving in probably 15 years not at my aunt's house.
    • What dish are you most looking forward to? Stuffing!!!! I love stuffing.

    • Are you hosting? Nope, dinner at my Mom's as always.
    • Are you cooking anything? If so, what? Homemade yeast rolls, green bean casserole, and if I run out to pick up the fixin's, oven-roasted asparagus.
    • Any special Thanksgiving traditions? No, just lots of eating, playing games, and more eating.
    • What dish are you most looking forward to? The pumpkin cheesecake that I requested for dessert. I was going to try to make one, but I'm still finding my kitchen groove again. My cousin was looking for something to bring, so I asked that she pick up the pumpkin supreme pie that Bob Evans has. Their food is only so-so on a good day, but that pie is the best.

Are you cooking anything? If so, what? DH is cooking almost everything. Mom is making dessert. I'm working so all I have to do is show up and eat!
