Turkey: fresh or frozen? No preference but I'm pretty sure it's frozen. Not really the big thing for me anyway.
What dishes are you responsible for? I'm bringing an app to both dinners (pumpkin caramel dip...okay so it's an app/dessert)
Do you make or buy said dishes? make
If you are hosting, do you ask for specific dishes from folks or let them decide? If I host I've obviously lost my mind so I'd probably let them decide.
What time does your family sit down to eat? DH's parents: 1:00pm, My parents, about 5:00pm
Do you have any traditions that you follow? Nope, I used to have traditions around going to Turkey Bowl and things like that, but now we are just running around too much. If we are lucky we watch the parade.
Will you put up your tree/holiday decorations on Black Friday? No, usually the next weekend...but I may want to wait even longer than that.

Turkey: fresh or frozen? I don't make the dinner but I'm guessing frozen. I'll be making my own dinner on Friday and will be using my freeeeeeeeee Giant frozen turkey.
What dishes are you responsible for? This year, pumpkin pie. It seems to switch every year. We will also bring a bottle of white wine as a hostess gift.
Do you make or buy said dishes? I was planning on making it, but I did a test run and while DH said it was "unbelievable", he said it wasn't "Thanksgiving worthy". I used Paula Deen's recipe and I think it's because it contains cream cheese. So I bought 2 pies from Tanner Brothers farm.
If you are hosting, do you ask for specific dishes from folks or let them decide? I've never hosted Thanksgiving but I've done Christmas eve. I let people offer whatever they want.
What time does your family sit down to eat? Everyone arrives at 3, but I think dinner is at 4.
Do you have any traditions that you follow? When we were kids, my sister and I used to tape the cheerleading competitions on ESPN. Now I only try to watch the parade.
Will you put up your tree/holiday decorations on Black Friday? Not sure yet. Our apartment is a disaster zone of clutter. That needs to be rectified first.
Turkey: fresh or frozen? Frozen. It was free from Shop-Rite because we spent 300 bucks and my parents went back and picked up the free turkey yesterday.
What dishes are you responsible for? None. My mom allows no one to make anything.
Do you make or buy said dishes? If I had to bring something, I'd make it.
If you are hosting, do you ask for specific dishes from folks or let them decide? If people come over, I don't ask them to bring anything.
What time does your family sit down to eat? 3:30
Do you have any traditions that you follow? Not really.
Will you put up your tree/holiday decorations on Black Friday? We will probably get the tree on 12/8. Since I am preggo, I can't put up the window decorations, so I will have to wait until DH is in the mood to help me do it. Who knows when that will be.
Turkey: fresh or frozen? I've only cooked a turley once, but it was fresh.
What dishes are you responsible for? this year - zucchini gratin
Do you make or buy said dishes? make!
If you are hosting, do you ask for specific dishes from folks or let them decide? I only hosted Tday one time and it was b/c my dad just had surgery and my mom recently broke her arm. It was a last-minute throw together meal, so everyone pitched in. I host Christmas Eve, and I have people bring desserts. I cook the entire meal myself and am too much of a control freak to delegate.
What time does your family sit down to eat? I think 5:30 this year
Do you have any traditions that you follow? No, but if the weather is nice, I'd like to start the tradition of taking the little lady for a long walk in the morning with DH.
Will you put up your tree/holiday decorations on Black Friday? Yes!!! I am going to try to get the whole house done this weekend since I go back to work on Tuesday. The tree will be purchased mid-December.

What dishes are you responsible for? I'm cooking, and I'm a control freak as well.

Will you put up your tree/holiday decorations on Black Friday? I wasn't planning on it, because TD is so early, but my brother and nephews will be in town next weekend.
We have neighbors that put their lights up outside last weekend. Does anyone else think that's a little ridiculous?
P.S. Bah humbug.
Turkey: fresh or frozen? Fresh
What dishes are you responsible for? All of it.
If you are hosting, do you ask for specific dishes from folks or let them decide? I don't request anything. Except for good manners and no drama. My dad usually brings flowers.
What time does your family sit down to eat? 4 ish
Do you have any traditions that you follow? No.

What dishes are you responsible for? Mashed potatoes and an app
If you are hosting, do you ask for specific dishes from folks or let them decide? We are hosting. My sister is bringing the bird bc she REALLY wants to. Fine by me! Everyone brings something. Since is only my immediate family and there is only 4 of us (and then spouses) we do a group email and decide together who will do what so that we make sure everything is covered.
What time does your family sit down to eat? 2:30ish
Do you have any traditions that you follow? Well a lot of family fights have broken out on Tgiving or drama of some sort. So the new tradition is NO drama. Which unfortunately meant telling my aunt that my cousin couldn't come. I can't deal with that ish this year.
Will you put up your tree/holiday decorations on Black Friday? We typically tag the Christmas tree this weekend and then put it up next weekend. Since we have no plans we'll probably put up lights outside but whether or not I turn them on will depend what the neighbors are doing. I'm a follower like that.
