I have a black tie affair coming up and I wanted to try to do some loose curls for the occasion. I have never used a curling iron and don't own one. My hair is about 3 inches past my shoulders so it's not super long. I've been told by others to get "a large barrel iron" but I'm not sure exactly what size. I would appreciate any advice you guys have.

Re: Curling Iron Question
You can look at tutorial videos online if you've never used curling iron, I suggest practicing in advance. I recommend using Paul Mitchell 'soft spray' - doesn't feel or weigh down like hairspray and lasts all night.
