Intro--Aberdeen

Hello to you all! We are getting ready to relocate our new family of four to Aberdeen.  DH has been there setting everything up for the past month and we are getting ready to make the move.  We have previously lived in Cape Town and Luanda, Angola and we are very excited to live in the UK for the next few years!  Anyone else been up that way?

Re: Intro--Aberdeen

  • I've only been to Aberdeen for work, but we have a few posters in Scotland (I assume you mean the city in Scotland, rather than the town in Hong Kong).  I can't recall if any of them are in Aberdeen.  You'll find us all hiding over here following the technical disaster on The Nest a few months ago.

My grandparents are from Aberdeen, so I go up occasionally. It's very nice, if you can get over the greyness (practically all of the buildings are made out of granite). The people are, on a whole, are very nice, the university looks amazing, and the beaches are lovely. Expect to die trying to understand the stronger of the accents though; I do and I'm from Edinburgh!
