XP from Travel: New Year's Eve in Montreal

Hello Canadian Nesties,

DH and I originally dreamed of a warm escape from NY for the holidays, but then we did a complete 180 and booked Quebec and Montreal 12/28 - 1/2. Now, I'd welcome any advice on New Year's Eve in Montreal! DH and I are in our mid-30s and, emphatically, are not club scene people. We love having fun and food/drinks in a great company, but huge crowds and loud music are not for us... should we just stay in, or is there any party designed just for us? Thanks!
