Kate Spade is having a 75% off cyber sale on some bags and I thought I would treat myself to a diaper bag. Well as I was checking out (didnt actually check out) H e-mails me that his check engine light went on in his car. Well there goes my bag! I didnt want to order it in case its something serious that needs to get fixed. Boooo!

Re: Noooo!
Tell him to go to autozone and get them to read the code (free) that way you know what it is (if anything) before you take it to a mechanic.
One of my friends JUST told me the same thing, I had no idea Auto Zone does that but thats pretty cool. I called H and told him and he said there is one right on 40 on his way home.
Fingers crossed its nothing major. His car is almost hitting 100k so its bound to start having little issues here and there. We have been pretty good with maintenance and changing hoses etc so hopefully it will last him a bit longer.
Has he had a 60-75,000 mile tune up? This made my jeep drive SO much better, and catches a lot of the little things before they start. I guess my battery was really coroded and they changed tranmission fluids etc.
Yea, we got that done a few months back. He said he will go to Auto Zone at lunch and get it checked out because there is one near the base and if the readout from that looks serious he will go to a mechanic on base and get a better diagnosis and get it fixed there since he needs his car all week. We would trade cars but the car seat is a PITA to move around and I need a reliable car too.

I thought about that but I'm too cheap to have to pay the shipping back since its an online only deal.
ha ha good thinking, good thinking.
H went to Auto Zone and they told him its something to do with his coolant. He checked his levels and it was fine so they think it may be the wiring getting old. Called another place and it will be around $150 to get it fixed. Not not bad, but I still think I'll skip the bag for now. Oh well, maybe next time.
Me too. He took my car into work today just in case. Even though its likely nothing he doesnt want his car to overheat.
