Teen Star of Two and a Half Men Denounces Show

What say ye, Christians?

I don't watch Two and a Half Men because I think it's a sh!t show, but I am surprised to find it's considered so horrifyingly vile in the eyes of this kid.

  • Kirk Cameron v2.0?

  • I haven't really seen it, since I'm not a sitcom watcher anyway (I prefer courtroom dramas). Most sitcoms have a lot of base humor, though.

I applaude him for sticking up for his beliefs, as I would applause anyone for doing so.

The Fox News article I read said he has been a cast member since 2003. He gets $350k per episode. I don't know if this is a new revelation for him to want to express this viewpoint. He seemed to say that he has a purpose for being there. As a believer, I do agree that sometimes we're (Christians) are called into the non-traditional places to serve. The article I read didn't really state what he thinks his faith-based purpose has been there.

I don't have enough data to make any other assertions about him.

RE: Kirk cameron. He has done a lot of film work outside of TV land and has been pretty impactful in Christian marriage seminars and in helping couples.

  • Kirk Cameron is a grade-A douche.  He used his Christian "values" to get a co-worker fired because what she did on her off time was against his beliefs.  He cut off friends he'd had for years because they didn't agree with his beliefs.

His "Way of the Master" website is insulting to anyone who isn't a White Christian Male.

That isn't commendable or worthy of respect.  That's pathetic.

And Two and A Half Men is a horrible show.  Horrible.  If the kid wants off the show, he should quit.  He shouldn't complain about it being against his beliefs.  He should remove himself from the situation instead of biitching about it.

  • Kirk Cameron is the absolute worst.  Blah.

  • Who's twisting his arm to stay?
  • idk....i always found that show hilarious.  but i guess that's my kind of humor

  • Meh, it was funny until Charlie Sheen left.  The dynamic between Jon Cryer and Charlie Sheen was awesome.

But, I agree if Angus wants off the show...leave.

  • I agree he should just leave if he doesn't like it, I just find his extreme reaction to be so strange.  I mean, is it that bad? I never found it funny at all, but many people have/do.

He comes across as someone who has been brainwashed.  I just wonder who has been getting to this kid and his millions.  Seems very over the top.

I saw a clip of the interview yesterday I though the exact same thing.  I didn't see the part where he talked about christian values or whatever, but the part that I did see was sort of incoherent.  It felt like he was having a hard time articulating his thoughts more than 4 or 5 words at a time, so he was constantly abandoning one sentence and jumping to another thought.

Though, if I'd spent the better part of 10 years with Charlie Sheen, maybe my brain would have crumbled a little, too?

  • This is sorta the exact opposite kind of meltdown from Charlie Sheen's.

  • It really does suck to be a child actor. So few seem to escape unscathed, with a few exceptions.

Still, must be nice to be able to complain about pretending to be another person in front of cameras and making $350K per episode. Take that money and start a charity and help people, little poo.

-My son was born in April 2012. He pretty much rules. -This might be the one place on the internet where it's feasible someone would pretend to be an Adult Man.

He is legally contractually obligated for one more year. It seems he's trying to get out of it by pulling a reverse-Sheen and trying to get kicked off/written off the show.

You just may be right, LD.  Although, I would still question who the hell is brainwashing/leading this kid into being such a bonehead.  It's just a freaking year. So dumb.

Bahaha! Yes.  Sheen is probably behind this whole thing.  Winning!

  • That show is horrible. And Kirk Cammy is a freaking douchenozzle.

I'm a little conflicted on it. As a practical matter I don't care how much he is making on it or what he is doing with the money. He's a private citizen and it's between him and God as far as I'm concerned.

I've never watched it but I have been told by several people during the Sheenathon that it was filthy. It sounds like his conversion or at the very least his commitment to his faith is pretty new so he's likely been under contract for a long time before he became convicted about being part of something that maybe a Christian probably shouldn't be. In that case, I can somewhat understand realizing you are part of something you think is unhealthy but not having an immediate way out you wish to speak against it. However, stewardship is also part of Christianity. We are called to leverage our influence very carefully but also to render under Caesar what is Caesar's and to God what is God's. He's made a commitment via contract to sell an entertainment product and attempting to disparage that product and otherwise harm his current employer is not very good stewardship.

I'd feel much better about it if he'd waited until next year when his contract was up and said it and further if we found out that aside from just what is necessary to live, he donated his enormous salary to an organization that does something like save people from human trafficking or similar.
