Hey ladies (and gents!!) I am super bored and decided to start a random "what do you call it?" poll. DH and I were talking about this yesterday and it has been on my mind ever since... Apparently his family and my family couldn't be more different!
1. At the grocery store, is it a shopping cart, or a buggy?
2. What do you call soft drinks? (soda, pop, or coke)
3. Do you pronounce pecan and "pee-can" or "puh-con"?
4. What do you call your father? (pop, dad, pa, etc?)
Hmmm. I can't think of any more... feel free to add yours!!

I thought of another one......
What do you call gym shoes? Gym shoes or tennis shoes?
Me? Gym shoes
TTC since September 2012
Tennis Shoes. I don't know anyone who calls them gym shoes. Where do you live? I live in Northern California, and I feel I need to specify that or everyone will assume I live in LA or San Diego and am a surfer chick, when in fact I live in the mountains.

I call my mom and mum.
I pronounce orange with an arange.
Aunt is ant.
It's crayon not crown.
I occasionally say perrdy instead of pretty.
1. Neither. It's a wagon. I mean, it isn't. But that's what I call it. I don't know why.
2. Soda
3. pee-can
4. Dad
LOL! I've never heard of that. Is it because that is where you deposit your stool? Ewww.
Does anyone call them sneakers?
My Blog:Through My Eyes
1. Shopping Cart
2. Pop
3. Not sure--I actively try to avoid saying it, because I don't know how.
4. Dad
Aunt = ant
When it comes to my athletic shoes, I'm very specific. I have my "running shoes," for actually running, and when they get old, they become my "work-out shoes." I will also say sneakers or runners on occasion. For me, tennis shoes are what I wear to actually play tennis. They have hard soles to last on hard courts.
At first I thought I say "ENvelope" but now that I've thought about it some more, I think I say "ONvelope."
1. A Shopping Cart or just Cart
2. Pop
3. Puh-Con

3. Pee-can
4. Dad
5. ont

That makes sense calling shoes by the specific name if you have multiple pairs or use for a specific thing. I just have a pair of sneakers. If I had multiple pairs I would definetly call them differnt names.
ENvalope. That's a good one.
I call my choes by different things too. I have my running shoes, and my work-out shoes. Dh just calls his "worn out" shoes.. idk..
I say INvalope.
And I thought of another: the colered sugar topping for ice cream. I call them sprinkles, but I've heard them called "jimmies" before, too, when I worked at an ice-cream parlor.
I call them sprinkles too. I have never heard of the term jimmies for those
