Hey ladies,
So here's my situation - I have a job interview next week for a job in a school district (in pa) that I really want. When the person called to schedule the interview, she asked me if my current job would hold me for 60 days or if they would let me go before that. The district is allowed to keep me for 60 days after I resign and I'm almost positive that they will. I told the lady I didn't know if they would, so here's my question - If they offer me the job and then my current job says "you have to wait til her 60 days here are up" could they take the offer back? The position is open because someone is retiring at the end of the month, and if there is a gap before I start they would have to hire someone probably at a per diem rate until I am able to start. Anyone ever deal with anything like this? TIA!
Re: Terminating contract of school district job?
I don't know if they could take the offer back but if it were me I would probably ask about it at the interview. Just something like "Say my current employer does want to hold me for the 60 days, would it be possible for me to start on Feb 1st instead of Jan 1st"? (or whatever the dates are)
Good Luck at the interview!
