cookies

Girls, what is your favorite Christmas cookie and do you want to share the recipie?  I am always looking for new favorites to add to the Christmas lineup.

Mine are Oatmeal Lace cookies

1 C Oatmeal

1 Cup Sugar

2 Tbls plus 1 tsp flour

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 C  melted butter

1/4 tsp baking powder

1 egg beaten

2 tsp vanilla or orange extract

1. Mix dry ingredients well.  Pour melted butter over the dry, add egg and vanilla

2.Drop on cookie sheet lined with foil (I use a silicone sheet) 1/2 tsp apart.  With a glass dipped in water, slightly flatten each cookie

3. Bake 8-10 min or until brown, be careful to not overcook.  Cool completely before removing from the sheet or the cookies will fall apart.  If using foil peel the foil from the cook.   * while still slightly warm you can roll around the handle of a wooden spoon to make piourette shape cookies.

Re: cookies

  • I love cookies but honestly I don't have any special ones I only make during Christmas or holidays. Normally I stick to the basics like sugar or chocolate chip.
  • I'll have to get the recipe at home, but my Grandma always used to make buckeyes as part of her Christmas cookie trays. They're basically peanut butter and sugar mixed together and dipped in chocolate.
