getting pee smell out of couch
A month or two ago my son slept on the couch one night and peed on it. The smell will not come out. I tried febreeze but it didn't help. It smells like when animal pee is on fabric. Any suggestions?
Re: getting pee smell out of couch
Another not so cheap solution... we have a Little Green shampooer.
Between the dog, the kids, the FI... it gets used alot. For soda spills on the couches, pee on the couches. And for the carpets, dog pee, kid puke, dog puke, FI stepping in dog poo in the yard and tracking it in...
We also have a large carpet shampooer that has a small upholstery attachment too, to it's like double bang for your buck.
Not sure if that was the answer you were looking for, but that's how things get cleaned in our house.

This is a remedy I used for getting cat pee out of my husband's couch. It was saturated because his roommate at the time never cleaned her cats' litter boxes, so they'd pee on the couch instead.
In a spray bottle, fill it up halfway with white vinegar, half with water, and add a couple tablespoons of hydrogen peroxide. Spray the entire couch until it is saturated. Then, sprinkle a generous layer of baking soda over the whole couch. Scrub it into the mixture with a scrub brush, and allow it to dry. Once dry, vacuum up the baking soda. Nothing is harder to get out of fabrics than cat urine, and the couch smelled fantastic afterward.
Also, if you can, take the cushions out of their covers, use this mixture on them outside, hose them down and allow them to dry outside. The sun helps kill the smell.
