Where to eat in Columbia?

We are heading to see the lights this weekend, and need to think of somewhere to eat. It would have to be toddler friendly, and maybe somewhere that we don't have in White Marsh (a chain would be ok, if it's a different one than we have near us). Any ideas?

Re: Where to eat in Columbia?

  • Ooh, there is so much missing from White Marsh (though they keep adding on since I moved south).

If you like Mexican, On The Border! Mimi's Cafe and La Madeleine and Chicken Out are also nearby (and I consider them all to be kid-friendly). But these are on 175, not right in the mall area.

UNOs is at the mall, but I don't know what else at the moment.

  • Cheesecake factory at Columbia mall.

  • The mall might be a little crowded especially on a Friday during the holiday season. A good place if you don't mind is Champps at the mall. They are kid friendly and have a very good menu.

  • I know Kathryn is a hater, but if you want to get a little way away from the mall we LOVE El Azteca on 108 in Clarksville.  By far our favorite Mexican in the area.  It's noisy enough to make taking a toddler there pretty easy.

  • I second ALL of the above suggestions, but I will add that if you choose one of the places at the mall (Unos, Champps, and particularly Cheesecake) you are probably in for a pretty long wait.

:) OP - all the mall restaurants will be a total cluster for parking and waiting for your meal. In addition to the others mentioned, I like Bertucci's on Snowden River Pkwy; I'm not personally a fan of Red Lobster, but I know lots of people like it. On the more casual side - there's also a Cosi, Noodles and Company and Chicken Out nearby. Those are all pretty quick and easy w/ little kids.

  • Red Robin is good for toddlers if you don't have one by where you live.  I'd also recommend Three Brothers Pizza -- their Italian dishes are good and it's very quick and easy.  Both are on Snowden River Parkway.

  • I know I am late to this, but I love the Dog Pub. We like to bring the kids there as an alternative to the chains.
