Small movie night

This will be our first time hosting someone from H's work. (We moved here 6 days after our wedding!)

I've met this couple a few times on work related outings. So it will only be two people coming over.

I was thinking of making a pitcher of one type of cocktail. One savory dish, one sweet, and one salty. Should I have more or less?

They are coming over to watch a Christmas movie and chill out.

TIA

Re: Small movie night

  • I'm not sure a cocktail is necessary, but I would have beer and wine.  I think the assortment of food will be pletny also (as long as it's clear you won't be eating dinner).  I would be sure that they salty snack is popcorn.  You could even pick up a few boxes of theater type candy to have.  There is usually a $1 bin near the movie section at Walmart.
  • provide at least 3 options for drinks (water, iced tea, cocktail?) unless you know exactly what they like to drink.

food options sound good. something like chips and some sort of dip would go over well too. my FAVORITE snack/treat are pretzels with hershey kisses and m&ms. those are GONE at every party I bring them to.

so easy to make, and you can make a lot at once...and it covers the sweet/salty category =)

    sounds like a fun evening!
