Do you buy Christmas presents for your pet?

I grew up buying and wrapping christmas gifts for our dog. She watched as eneryone unwrapped their presents and then she got hers. DH wonders why I wrap the presents for his two dogs. What do you do for your pets?

Re: Do you buy Christmas presents for your pet?

  • We buy gifts for their stockings :) Though the cats favorite gift didn't fit in a stocking so they got it set up Christmas morning for them to enjoy.

  • Guilty. :) My Jack Russell loves getting presents. He is so smart, he uses his paws to tear the wrapping paper open, then pulls the toy out and tears it up quickly and goes back to the tree and stares at his next present. He knows exactly which ones are his, it's hilarious.

My second puppy just looks at it, and wags his tail, spins and whines until I open it for him. Lol and my new puppy will be celebrating her first Christmas, so I'm not sure how she'll do yet. Lol

  • I did in the past but didn't wrap them because it was just me and XH so it seemed dumb to unwrap something that wasn't exciting to us. Now that I'm with BF, the cat will get something wrapped from Santa and his DD will open for her. If it wasn't for BF's DD, I wouldn't wrap it.

  • I have stockings for all my kids - 2 dogs, 2 cats, and a bunny.
  • Absolutely! I get my bunnies their own giant willow chew ball, a real papaya, bunny toys. And I wrap them without tape so they can have the extra fun of opening them. Last year one of my rabbits kept opening my mother in law's presents before I could even give them to her LOL.

  • Yes! Our dog and our "niece and nephew" dogs get gifts. Usually just in a gift bag without tissue paper and definitely not wrapped. When we are all together on Christmas morning we do have to keep our slightly food aggressive dog on the other side of the tree from her "cousins" so she doesn't eat all their treats!

  • I am guilty.

My kitty also gets a stocking sent to us from his grandma (my mother)

  • My family has always given gifts to our pets. We even give gifts to each others pets. We wrap the gift if its for another pet. Also wrap if it's for our Cat and wont fit in the stocking.

I find dogs care more about gifts. Our cat could not care less.

  • We get presents for our pets, but we don't wrap them.  They are part of the family!

  • My husband and I have a stocking for our cat and buy her a gift. We wrap it because if we don't, she'll see it and want it before Christmas. That, or she'll want the box that it comes in. hahaha
