I'm doing a budget overhaul starting in January. One of my big focus areas is going to be reducing our food budget by meal planning and using coupons. Figuring a plan for M-F is easy, but what do you eat for lunch on the weekends? We either pick up something or don't eat at all. I just can't eat a Lean Cuisine at home. TIA.
Re: Lunch Recommendations
We don't eat out much at all. Here are some things we do for lunch on the weekends: leftovers, Trader Joe's Organic White Cheddar mac'n'cheese (so good and doesn't taste as processed as other brands of macncheese), BLTs, cheese and crackers, salads, and quesadillas. The key to lunches on the weekends for us is to make them quick and easy. We're usually on the go or pretty busy with chores so we don't want to take a lot of time. By keeping a few key ingredients always in stock we can make a variety of food quickly HTH!
On the weekends, we usually eat a large breakfast and then we're good again until dinner.
What do you feed your kiddos for lunch? Can you make adult versions and eat that as lunch? (grilled cheese for kids, grilled cheese with some added bacon for mom & dad etc)
Salads?
