I have been thinking a lot about Christmas today. I love...love...love Christmas decorations. So....just for fun........
When do you usually starting your Christmas decorating?
Is there any specific "theme" or colors you use?
Do you usually decorate the outside of your house?
I usually put mine up about mid~November....but this year I have sworn myself to the day after Thanksgiving!
My whole house is decorated in the Snowman/Snowflake theme! There is blue and silver everywhere!! I think I might even have some pics in my bio

Re: Christmas Decorating!
We always decorate the day after Thanksgiving. My DH has an early December b'day and growing up his mom always made sure that the decorations were up by his b'day so I want to continue to do that for him.
I have lots and lots of Santa Clause stuff! Oh and Nutcrackers! And I always put out my collection of children's Christmas books.
We didn't decorate outside last year but I made DH promise that we would this year.
I'm making myself wait till after Thanksgiving. I'll probably decorate when I come home from work (the critters like to eat too!) and surprise DH. We'll have to wait til the following Monday (when we're both off) to get a live tree.
This is the first year I have a house to decorate. I want to put some lights on the outside of the house. Theme would probably lean towards naturey/woodsey/rusticey.
If any of y'all get live trees this year and wonder what to do w/ them afterwards, the Wildlife Center could use them to habitat the enclosures for our patients.

We usually decorate after the Thanksgiving holidays, although I may start right before we leave since I will be off. Our main tree has all balls--a wide variety of colors and patterns though. Another tree has all of the random keepsake ornaments that people have given us since we were married, and the one in our room has all red bows and these two sets of matching balls w/ scenes on them. We also decorate the outside w/ white lights, bows, and a snowman that we bought last year that lights up (made out of grapevine I think). Last year we also had a patio tree that we put all colored lights on.
I forgot....I have one lighted snowman set that I put out front. I think mine are grapevine too! It is a Mr. and Mrs. Snowman! We bought that set right after we got married....we used some of the gift cards from the wedding
I am also going to put some icicle lights up over the garage this year. I scored some...and the clips to hang them super cheap after Christmas last year :P
When do you usually starting your Christmas decorating? As soon after TGD as is possible
Is there any specific "theme" or colors you use? I use deep red, deep green, crystal and gold stuff and I finally bought a tree skirt that I love last year.
Do you usually decorate the outside of your house? A wreath on the front door, something on the two French doors at the side of the house, somthing on the mailbox and maybe something on the gaslight in front of the house, that's about it...lights in all the windows when I'm not lazy.
I try to do it the weekend of Thanksgiving. Since '96, thanks to being in a college environment, I usually go home to CT for about 2 weeks, so I want to actually enjoy my holiday decorating!
I love snowmen. And Santa Clauses. I love snowmen because I feel justified leaving those decorations up way longer - but I've begun inheriting my mom's Santa collection that she doesn't bother to put out anymore, so those two are my themes. I do have a sizeable Dicken's Village collection, but it's at my parents in CT. I'm dying to get it down here.
Last year I hung icicle lights and did candles in the windows. I can't decide which I like better!! One thing that I loved up North that I barely see here is a wreath over each window, with a candle in the window. I would love to try that, but don't know how crazy FI will be about helping me get that all set up. :-)
