I am looking to set up a ecommerce website to sell costume jewelry since I have great connections in Hong Kong for some in demand items.
I don't want to set up my own site, because then i need to go to the gov office to apply for the business license and set it up for taxes etc, and tis is a kind of "time sensitive matter"...my friend who recently did this spent 6 months going through the motions of paperwork.
I'd rather work from a site like Etsy where you list the items and then buyers come to you, and you pay the site so you don't have to worry about getting a business license etc.
I don't want to use Ebay because i feel like my items will get lost in a host of oter items since they aren't name brands.
Does anyone know a site similar to etsy wehre you can see non-homemade items?
Re: Website similar to Etsy for ecommerce
You could try Bonanza http://www.bonanza.com/
The thing is, you can't beat eBay as far as the traffic it brings in.
I don't know what state you are in, but in my state I still had to obtain a business license to sell on eBay.
