Christmas dinner side dishes!
Let's talk Christmas dinner side dishes. What are your favorites? What could you live without?
DH and I are hosting Christmas dinner this year for about 15 people and my mother is asking what she should bring. I haven't really thought about it yet, but I'm obviously going to need help, I can't possible make everything.
Re: Christmas dinner side dishes!
What is your main dish?
I really like pinapple stuffing (that's more like a dessert) with ham. Also cranberry sauce --the homemade kind which is super easy.
Ditto pp - it depends what you're having. Typically we do Italian, Mexican or just all apps on Christmas day.
Some of my favorite sides are:
At IL's we have the same meal for Christmas as we do for Thanksgiving, so it's the usual sides: green bean casserole, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, stuffing.
At my parents, the meal varies from year to year but it is often something with beef (beef bourguignon, beef tenderloin, etc) and we usually have some kind of rice pilaf-y dish and sauteed veggies. It's not as huge of a meal as Thanksgiving.
