If you accidentally bump into/step on/otherwise bother your pet, do you apologize?
This may sound strange, but there's no way I'm the only one!
Re: Apologizing to your pets
One time I stepped on my cat's tail and she hollered and ran away. I ran after her to try to pick her up and pet her but she hissed at me and I started crying. DH thought it was hilarious.
But yes, I apologize to my cat. I also yell at her and say "you're going to get kicked if you don't stop walking right in front of me!!!!"
Miles (6 year old Maine C00n mix), Boots (5 year old Lab mix), Darla (4 year old GSD/Collie mix), Frankie (1.5 year old DSH mix), Peanut (15 months old - 09/11), and Bean (arriving Feb 2013).
I have full blown conversations with them... I'll be in the kitchen talking to them and DH will yell in "what" from the living room. I just say "oh I was talking to the dogs" - I probably am crazy, but they look so happy when I talk to them

Have you seen my monkey?
Yep. I talk to our dog and cat all the time. There's times I've accidently bopped the dog on the nose while playing (he likes to play rough) and he'll act all scared until I say sorry, then he's ready to play again. He's already a little skittish so if you bop him harder than he was expecting he thinks he's in trouble.
The cat, I don't apologise too much to. When I hurt her, its usually because I've kicked her or fallen over her. Both things she gets when she gets under my feet. I call those days her trying to kill mummy days. She likes to see if she can toss me down the stairs.
DH and I will have conversations with the cats where one of us is the voice of the cat. We also do this with DS.
5 cats. 1 baby.
Did you really think this thread would go differently?
It's the Pet board!!
With that said, I talk to my animals as if they understand
english. Also, I live alone.
Uh-oh- just realized I am THAT lady. Yikes

Ha. We do this all the time too - every dog/cat has a different voice. Its quite ridiculous and we try to lock it up in public.
