Traveling w/ little ones...

Have you traveled w/ your toddler?  For us specifically Disney.  I am concerned about the flight, the long days (he NEEDS TWO naps at 15 months right now)  It won't be until the end of August 09, but I hoping for some good advice to make this as managable and fun as I want it to be.  It will be me, dh, ds (9) and baby ds.  TIA!

Did anyone try this and find it was just too soon?

  • We're taking Maddie at the end of the month so I can let you know. But, at 2 yrs old, you'll have a much different toddler! Maddie's on one nap/day, and we're going to kind of play it by ear. Just don't plan on doing everything. We'll probably go to the parks first thing (we're staying on property), come home around 11 for DD's nap, and then head back out after for a few hours before coming back for bedtime. We also plan on utilizing the babysitting service.?
  • BABYSITTING SERVICE!!  I din't know that was available!  Does it vary by property?  Thanks for thheads up!

  • Oh yeah. It's a little pricey ($16/hr with a 4 hr minimum) but I think it will be worth it since DD is in bed by 6PM! It should say on the resort's website whether or not it's available. Where are you staying?
  • We haven't decided, but def on property~and somewhere that service is available!  Thanks so much for the heads up!

  • We took our daughter when she was a week away from 2. It was fantastic. She was a trooper and slept in her stroller when she got tired. We did parent swap on the big rides, so we got to enjoy them. As far as a room, we stayed at the All Star Music family suites. They were definitly not the ritz, but had a bedroom with a queen bed that had a perfect spot for a pack-n-play and a living room with 2 twin pull out beds and a full pull out bed, also 2 full bathrooms and a kitchenette. The hotel also had 2 pools and a large food court. Overall I would recommened it to anyone with a low budget. HTH
