Under Arm Waxing

How often do you wax your underarms? Just curious because I just started waxing a few months ago, and I feel everything grows back within a week or two. I thought it was supposed to keep you hairless for 3 to 4 weeks. I don't want to go back to shaving though because I get ingrown hairs and it gets red and itchy Also what do you girls do inbetween waxes? When it gets too hairy do you just wear short sleeves instead of tank tops? Did anyone ever forget they were hairy and end up wearing a tank top in public? I did that once. Gross. Sorry if this sounds strange. I had a few glasses of wine.

Re: Under Arm Waxing

  • I don't wax, I shave, and I (fortunately) don't get red or bumps.

In between shaving, when I think I may be too hairy, yes, I opt for sleeve coverage. I've also been a lifeguard before and rocked a bathing suit with hairy pits/legs, and didn't really care. People know women have hair, and if they're going to judge me for not being groomed one day, so be it.
  • Like pp, I shave my underarms instead of waxing. I only wax my eyebrows (and even then just to get the shape I want, then maintain myself at home) so I'm not the best person to ask on this. I do think that waxing is supposed to last longer, but I think underarm hair grows pretty quick, at least mine does. I check mine when in the shower and if it's getting a little hairy, I shave.  How are you shaving?  I know sometimes if you don't use shaving cream or use a dull razor, it can irritate your skin.  Honestly, I have gone out before in a tank top with hairy pits and I am particularly lax about shaving anything during winter months.
