Pain After O

I have a weird problem. I almost always finish before my H, which is not weird, but after I reach orgasm, if we continue to have sex so he can finish, I have terrible pain. I usually try to just continue so he can finish, but he can almost always tell I'm in pain and we stop because he cannot stand seeing me in pain. Sometimes, it's so bad that I tell him we need to stop. It's not immediate, but within a few minutes it usually starts.

Does anyone else have this problem?

Re: Pain After O

  • Where exactly is the pain?

And it's hard to say -- maybe you are merely overly sensitive due to the orgasm. Maybe it's the position you are in. Maybe this is a dryness/lube kind of thing and you've dried up and yeah, you bet that's going to hurt if you keep grinding away with no lube.

Maybe it's the position you were in when you orgasmed.

A bit more info is needed.

you could also take the initiative -- speed him up a bit so he orgasms; try touching him or stimulating him where he's sensitive, talk dirty, move into another position that will do the trick.
  • I used to. The pain would be so bad that I would have to immediately get into a scalding hot bath and have my H rub my lower back. The pain that you have, is it more crampy or sharp? More towards the front of your abdomen or more in your lower back region? If it's more in your lower back area, is it only in the way lower back or more so in your flank areas? (flank area is the lower back area on the outer sides around your kidney areas) How long has this been going? Did it start all of the sudden or has it always happened with orgasms?

Following a hysterectomy for s different reason, I was told that.I have something called a bicornuate uterus. The best descriptionis to imagine an upside down heart... More or less, that's what my uterus was shaped like. Even though several pregnancies, my OBGYN and a specialist, it was never detected. Ever since hysterectomy, I've been pain free following the big O. If you can answer thequestions to help me know more about what type of pain you are having, I can tell you if your pain is similar to the type of pain I had.

  • I get pains sometime myself, but mine are more inner thigh, cervix pain.  I know that it is caused from heavy thrusting, it feels so good! Big Smile

  • Sorry, I can give some more information.

It happens every time I finish more than a few minutes before him, no matter the position.

I thought it was a lube issue at first, so we bought a good water-based lube and tried that. It didn't seem to help much.

I usually try to speed him up by doing all of those things, but he takes forever to reach orgasm.

  • It's somewhere between sharp pains and cramping. I realize that's confusing, but that's the only way I can describe it.

The pain seems to be located in the lower abdomen and flank areas. It's been going on for about six months now, but it hasn't always happened.

I noticed this start about the time I had my Paraguard removed. It was causing terrible lower back pain (not the flank area) right before and during my period. They could not get the pain to stop, so my OBGYN suggested that we remove it. That pain has since stopped, but now I have this.

  • The pain you are describing is EXACTLY how mine was. It felt just like you said and it hurt in the areas just where you explained. Seriously, it was all exactly the way you described it all. I went back and forth to my OBGYN many, many times because of the pain....and the other problems that began! It all started when I first began having my period. That very first period I realized that things surely weren't supposed to hfeel the way they did. I had HORRIBLE pain with my period until I got on birth control and then they were much more manageable! I figured that many people had horrible pain with their period so I just made sure to take my bc and went on about my business. Eventually, I became sexually active and it wasn't until I was around 20 years old that I began to have pain after I had an orgasm. Honestly, it wasn't that bad until I was finished having sex that the pain would really kick in. Within five minutes of being done, I would begin to hurt just like you described. They only way that I could get it under control was to get into a scalding hot bath until the pain eased up. I saw my doc a few times about the pain but it was always chalked up to me probably having the start of endometriosis like my mom and grandmother. So, I just learned to live with it. Besides, the pain would only really happen if I had an orgasm and before my husband, I didn't have orgasms that often! When I began to realize that things weren't normal was the first time I became pregnant. I was pregnant, had a miscarriage and then a d and c. Thats a common happening though... So, I got pregnant again a few months later. I had another m/c followed by another d and c. Still pretty common. A few months later, I became pregnant again. This time it stuck! I went into preterm labor twice, had to have the meds to stop contractions each time. Still, I made it to term and had a healthy baby! I breastfed for 3 months so my period didn't start back till around 6 months after delivering. I noticed my periods were significantly heavier and longer than normal. Also, before my first baby, my periods were very regular. Not just down to starting them on the same day each month but they were down to a 2 hour time frame. Seriously! From the time my period started as a 13 year old, I always knew what day I'd start and it was always between 9-11am! It was no longer that way but I figured that it was going to take awhile to get back to normal. I had just been without a period for over a year...what did I expect?! By the time my first turned one, I was pregnant with my 2nd. Had to stop contractions twice again but was able to make it to term again. Had a healthy baby, breastfed much longer so it was over a year post delivery when my period started back. That's when things went downhill fast. The pain was much, much worse and I was having a period all but 2-3 days each month. You'd think that having a period that was 3 weeks long would mean that it would be light but oh no, they were very heavheavy. My poor OBGYN tried everything...different birth control, IUDs, another d and c to make sure that he had completely gotten out any 'birthing material', exploratory surgery twice to be absolutely sure there were no cysts or scar tissue that had been missed via ultrasound and he even did an ablation of my uterus to make sure that any and everything in there was good and dead (burned to where nothing could be actively 'growing'. Still, nothing was working! I was still having trouble, the pain was getting much worse, I was only NOT having a period 1-2 days a month and they were getting much heavier which I thought want. After many, many long talks with my husband and my doctors, I decided that I was happy with only 2 kids (which had been our plan from the day we got married) and decided on a hysterectomy. Because I was still in my 20s back when I had it done, my doctor and I opted to leave my ovaries ovariesin place in hopes that Iwould avoid going into menopause. Everything else was taken out..cervix, uterus, fallopian tubes, etc. When my doc came in after surgery to tell me how surgery went I want quite expecting him to tell me that I had an oddly shaped uterus! I had what is called a bicornuate uterus. A bicornuate uterus is a type of congenital uterine malformation (m?llerian duct abnormality). A bicornuate uterus is heart-shaped with two joined cavities whereas a typical uterus has a single cavity. It causes an increase in miscarriages, preterm labor, pain and many other complications. It all made sense all of the sudden... Why I hurt so much, why I kept losing pregnancies, why I always had preterm labor..it explained a lot! My doctor explained that it is easy to detect in some women while some women never know they have it until 30 years after child bearing age. Regardless, ever since the hysterectomy I have been PAIN FREE! Take a few minutes and read up on it. To me, you seem to be having every single symptom associated with it. No matter what is going find some answers and soon!!
