Any HSV girls runners?

I really want to start running to try and get back into shape. I go to a spin class 3 days a week, but running is hell for me. Any tips or suggestions on how to get started? Also, where do you like to run?

  • I'm not a runner but have you looked at the couch to 5K program?
  • Lol, Leah!  I'm a treadmill runner!  Lack of treadmill = pudgy Jessica.  I'm all for attempting outside sometime if you'd like.  I just personally find it easier if the ground is moving. 
  • But what really got me going was rock music.  I mean, I would never condone someone calling a girl 'crazy b*tch' but it kept my tempo up.  I started running 20 minutes out of 45 and increased by five minutes a week.  I'm really hoping to get a treadmill for Christmas.  I actually miss it.

    I used to run on the treadmill 5 days a week. A few months ago I couldn't run because it would hurt my knees and ankles, so I started using the elliptical instead. I went "jogging" the other day and thought I was going to pass out! I just really need to get back into it.

    I will definitely hold you to that! We should go on the track sometime.

    Is there a track nearby?  I'm telling you, you'll be better because of spin.  All I've been doing is Body Pump and that's hardly aerobic.  You have my number!  Just to warn you-- I'm gonna be pitiful.  Lol.

    You can't be any worse than me! I spin, but that's different. I don't know if there's a track out here...I'll have to do some asking around.
