Has anyone else seen this? It's honestly my favorite movie about the recession so far. It's horrifying and eye opening and entertaining.
It's on Netflix streaming if you are interested.
Re: The Queen of Versailles
Honestly, yes. It will make you stabby. It's about David Siegel, who you may remember as a *** who sent letters to employees urging them to vote for Romney or risk being fired. His empire is built on nothing, essentially. He makes his money on the backs of middle class America, and then has the nerve to try to install politicians like George Bush who have policies that benefit mainly him and his ilk. It's really interesting. And very disgusting.
While that would make me stabby too, I think I'd also get great pleasure out of watching it knowing that all that money and shady conduct couldn't even buy an election for Mittens.
I was just about to mention that! It's gratifying to watch him lose almost everything in the movie, but then when you know he has rebounded it kinda makes you sick. I did enjoy seeing him vulnerable.
Still, dude was NOT good at managing his money. I don't hope for another recession (of course), but there are many ways this jerk off could lose it all.
I felt the same way, Lexi! He openly said he thinks he bought the election for GWB (and even admits it was the wrong thing to do!), so it's nice to see that all the money in the world didn't help Mitt (wait, who?) this round.
