Annoyance with my rings!!! (Long vent)
Not sure if any of your ladies remember but 9 days before my wedding I slammed my hand into a metal holder and smashed one of the amethyst baguette's on the side of engagement ring. Could not be fixed before the wedding but I was at least able to wear it on the wedding day and had it sent out for repair the day after. The engagement ring came back 3 weeks later the day of Hurricane Sandy. All I did was wear it home, took it off for bed and put it back on the next morning...half way through the day I noticed 2 amethyst stones were missing from one side!!!! Immediately brought it back to the store were the manager checked the other side that still had stones and the amethyst stones in my wedding band and ALL of them were loose!! He then took BOTH rings to be sent out for repair :-(
That was 10/29, got a call 11/29 that the rings were all ready to go (big issues finding the stones to fit and in right color) but while the jeweler was polishing the rings he cracked a stone!!!! I was fuming, demanding he call his corporate office and get me my money back. Corporate was willing to change all my amethyst stones back to diamonds at no cost to me so I asked them to exchange all the small round diamonds to amethyst since rounds are typically stronger then baguettes, they were willing to also do this for me. That was 12/5.
I just received a call yesterday telling me that they are having a difficult time with the amethyst round stones, they are all cracking!!! I was told they could rebuild my setting from scratch and hope it works better next time or come in and pick out a new engagement ring setting and wedding band!!!! Stopped in last night but didn't really love anything :-(
Almost married for three months and I am wearing a $15 fake ring setting from Claire's at the mall.
Sorry for the vent I am just so beyond frustrated!!!!!!!!

I'd get my money back for the whole set, and go to a different place. This is totally ridiculous.
