Confessions?

Anyone?

Mine is that I fly out tomorrow for MN and I am not really excited.  Visiting family can be stressful.  I wouldn't want to stay home either...

Re: Confessions?

  • Mine is similar. I'm visiting the in-laws the next couple days. I can do two days in a row, but am looking forward/dreading the 7 day cruise with them in the next room. I feel bad for stressing out about it. I love them for making J who he is, buuuuuuut...

  • Oh and another confession... present exchange is Christmas Eve/Monday. And I haven't bought my sister-in-law her present yet. I just talked to my other sister-in-law who kind of knows her better and says she's into "relaxing stuff and Wiccan/magik"......Uhh, I'm thinking spa basket with a manicure gift certificate, aromatherapy candle, etc etc. Any ideas to put in would be great! But no soaps or things like that, since she is now into making them herself. Gosh, I'm at a loss. No clue what I would get her Wiccan related O_O

I get to go visit Joy's uncle and evil aunt on Christmas morning.  Personally, I have no problem cutting relatives out who mistreat me, but she just can't get past the cultural indoctrination of how rude it would be to not show up even after what they've done to her.

So basically, I get to suffer through having to be minimally nice to her aunt who point blank said "I have no idea who you are or who Joy is" over the phone.

  • On Christmas Eve growing up we always went to church, ordered take-out, and decorated the Christmas tree. It was a very simple night, but nice. Now I have to go with DH to his parent's Christmas party. I would be happy with that but there are relatives that come that are VERY distant. His dad's cousin's and their kids show up every year and no one really knows who they are because they don't keep in touch throughout the year. So we are forced to have "get-to know ya" converstations year after year (this is my 3rd year attending). DH doesn't see anything wrong with this, but I do because I think Christmas time is about being with the ones you love. I have to give up my quiet nice little family tradition for this big party with about 10 strangers. I'm glad that DH's parents, his sister and her kids are there but everyone else I could care less about. His mother and father would be happy if these extra people stopped coming as well but they've been coming so long it's tradition now.

  • Costco has a great dresser changing table for $389 and I really want it. DH though it was too expensive so I had to drag him to babies r us to see how not expensive it was. I still did not get the dresser yesterday! When we got home I went online and showed him it was $649 online. I think that opened his eyes up and I really hope to come home from work to find a dresser in the nursery. If not I may have to kick his butt.

Ok major confession now, DH and I have not done the deed since finding out I was pregnant. I was never in the mood and just too tired during first tri and I think now I am just being lazy LOL. Guess I better get over that real quick eh?

Also, DH and I rarley ever do the deed. I think it's been only 4 times since finding out I was pregnant. So you're not alone.

  • I am really not excited abut my parents attitude towards the holidays. They don't want to accept that we are our own family now, and sometimes traditions do need to change.
