Help! UTI and doctor's office closed for holidays! What to do?

I have the HORRIBLE burning, urgency, etc! I bought an OTC medicine that's supposed to help with those symptoms but it's not helping. My doctor's office is closed today and tomorrow for the holidays. I can't handle this until they open back up! Does anyone have any suggestions or know of any home remedies? I've gotten cranberry/apple juice. I know it's supposed to be straight cranberry juice but I gag drinking straight cranberry juice! I figured the cranberry/apple juice was better than none. Thanks in advance for any recommendations!

  • Hope you got some antibiotics!! I normally don't take the whole round. I save a day or two worth of antibiotics for the next uti that heads my way. That is my tip.

  • Drink cranberry juice and LOTS of water - it will help flush it out.

  • All the Urgent Cares around here are open today.  Have you tried one of those?  No appointment, and my copay is only $15.
  • You should never ever do this!!! Taking an incomplete round of antibiotics allows the bacteria to adapt to the dose you are taking. Eventually the antibiotics will be useless against the bacteria and you will be stuck with a superbug and have to take stronger and stronger antibiotics. Always take a full course of prescribed antibiotics, even if the symptoms have disappeared.
