What are some things you keep in your fridge (besides the obvious condiments, milk, eggs, etc)? I'm asking because I was at a friends house this weekend and he told me I should be keeping my peanut butter, bread, and pasta noodles in the fridge. I have never heard of keeping any of those things refrigerated before, so it made me think that there must be more things out there that could live in the fridge.
So, what are some things you keep in there, and why?
Re: What's in your fridge?
i wouldnt keep bread, peanut butter or pasta in my fridge either, so weird! my husbands family keeps syrup in the fridge, i refuse, i tell him, who wants cold syrup on their hot pancakes!!! Real maple syrup yes that has to be refrigerated but not Aunt Jemima.
i think i have all the regular stuff in the fridge nothing out of the ordinary.
I have read that you should never refrigerate bread, freeze yes.
Only natural peanut butter should be refrigerated.
Natural PB must be refrigerated after opening for freshness. No such requirement for the chemical-laden stuff because of what it's made of.
I put bread in the fridge because it'll take me easily 6 weeks to go through a loaf and the cool temps retard mold.
Pasta, idk, maybe something to do with humidity? But I live somewhere super humid and have never heard that.
You can keep flour in the freezer for freshness. (I don't)

Thinking of doing cosmetic updates to a dated home? These were our costs.
They say bread should not be in the fridge, it breaks it down. You should keep it in the freezer, and take it out as needed.
Natural peanut butter- yes.
Pasta- I have never heard that one before.
Does he live in an apt? I have heard people in apt complexes keeping lots of things in the fridge for fear of bugs.
The only weird thing I do is peanutbutter but it is natural PB, also, check the labels, some natural PBs don't say its required.
He lives in a town-home, but it is pretty old and run-down. When I asked about the pasta, he said it had something to do with the moisture in the noodles and that keeping them in the fridge makes them last longer.
I keep flour in the refrig. Living in a warm climate it protects it from bugs. I used to keep vegetable oil in the frig too when I lived in FL and was single to preserve it longer. We go through it quicker now so no need.
There is something about freezing flour type things now to prevent kill pantry moths. I have had 2 friends that had to deal with erradicating them. I have not encountered this nor do I take precautions.
