Sliding patio door treatment?

We have sliding doors from our kitchen eating area out to our deck.  We are in a ruralish area with no neighbors right behind us.  Currently, I have a scarf/swag treatment above the sliding doors, but nothing else covering them.  In the family room next to the kitchen, I have the same scarf treatment on the windows, but also have blinds (wide white fake wood look).  In our old house, we had vertical blinds on the sliding door, but we were in a subdivision with neighbors closeby, so I felt like we needed something.  I suppose technically we don't need anything here, but I feel like I'd like something... Because I am paranoid and you never know when someone could be looking in... Can't believe I made it this long to be honest.  I'm not sure if I want vertical blinds or curtains, and if so, what type.  What do you have on your sliding door?  Pics or links appreciated.

I have no idea how to pip, but we have a long valance along the top of our sliding door  and then have a sheer hanging on each side that is tied in the middle with a hanging decorative rope....not sure if i'm explaining this in a way that makes sense!  It lets most of the sun in but gives us a sense of decoration and slight privacy.  Though our back yard neighbors are pretty far away and the door is off the kitchen so there really isn't anything I worry about them seeing

I would do curtains for sure.  Vertical blinds look incredibly dated to me.
