So, it's pretty slow around here again! I'm at work, bored...so...
How was everyone's Christmas?
Did anyone get anything super exciting?
Is anyone doing anything for New Year's Eve?
What types of food do you like to eat on New Year's Eve? Does anyone have anything that they have every year?

Re: Slowness
1. Our Christmas was very busy! On Christmas Eve, DH and I both had to work during the day. We both left early around noon though. I came home and finished decorating the sugar cookies I had made Sunday night and made another batch of my egg nog cookies. I had never had egg nog cookies before this year, and they were really good! I was surprised! That night, we went over to DH's parents house to do family with his immediate family. DH didn't feel good...I think he was having the 24-48 hour bug. We were supposed to go to church that night with my parents downtown, but I took DH home and then went by myself. On Christmas morning, we went over to my parents to have Christmas. Mom made breakfast and then we opened our gifts. After awhile, we went to our next stop...DH's aunts for Christmas with his entire family. We hung out there for several hours and then headed home.
2. I got stuff for our new house! DH's mom got me a floating shelf that I wanted and a set of 3 lamps. DH got the fireplace tool set that we needed. We had been having lots of fires, but was having to take a dust pan to clean out the fireplace and a stick to poke the fire! My parents gave us some money to go buy curtains with. I got some pantry organizers to utlize my cabinet space. Mom gave me a printer. We've been needing a printer. DH gave me a bookcase that I wanted.
3. We are actually going to host New Year's Eve this year. DH's extended family hasn't seen the new house at all, so we thought we'd have everyone over.
4. I asked this question, because I'm trying to think of food ideas for New Years Eve! :-) Growing up, we always just ate snacky foods since it was just my parents, sister, and myself. My dad would get rolls and lunch meat and make sandwiches. We would just eat chips and other snacky food. I'm trying to think of more appetizers to have. Luckily everyone is bringing something, so we don't have to come up with all the food!

**My Christmas was good! Spent time with both my family & his. We had a nice time.
**"He went to Jared" and bought me a pair of earrings.
**For New Years.. I think we are going over to this couples house that I don't like, ha. It's DH's best friend's roommate from college, and his fiance. She's one of those people that doesn't think before she speaks. The parties are usually always at our house, but a few weeks ago she was talking up their new condo, and looked at us and said "So - the parties are going to be at our place from now on." Kinda like our place isn't good enough.. But, she always says things like that so I shouldn't be surprised. (ok - it was also a very bad night from me - she wouldn't shut up about asking me when we were going to have a baby, the morning of a BFN - so don't judge me, haha).
**Hm, we don't really have any food traditions. If you are looking for ideas, I have a really good buffalo chicken dip recipe that's easy!

How was everyone's Christmas? Good. We had just immediate family together but there's now husbands and kids too so it felt like a very full house. I finally got to meet my nephew who was born at 25 weeks and had spent a couple months in the NICU. We moved to FL before he got out of the hospital. He is now 7 months old... very small for his age but adorable and healthy.
Did anyone get anything super exciting? H got a Kindle Fire and he's been glued to it. We don't have smart phones so he is obsessed with having a touch screen device. He's watching tv right now on it. I got a new GPS.
Is anyone doing anything for New Year's Eve? I don't know. We'll be back in FL and we don't really know too many people there. A co-worker invited us to her house for a party, but I'm not crazy about going somewhere where I'll only know 1-2 people.
What types of food do you like to eat on New Year's Eve? Does anyone have anything that they have every year? I love little appetizers and finger foods/party foods. I normally make pigs in a blanket and have chips with homemade dip (taco dip, spinach dip, etc)
It is slow around here. I think part of its the holidays. Plus I don't want to be the only one who starts posts. And I would love to do clicky polls but they don't work.
How was everyone's Christmas? Very Good. My IBS was really bothering me Christmas Eve and hung around for a couple of days after. Still had a great time at my Aunts. Then Christmas morning DH had tummy issues but it got better in time for going over his Uncles.
Did anyone get anything super exciting? A super cute dress from DH. And from him too cute but comfortable panties for my issues. I knew he would probably get these things but I love it! Oh and my Aunt have us both parts of the Deathly Hollows. Watched them Christmas morning.
Is anyone doing anything for New Year's Eve? Sitting at home drinking Champagne. Maybe order in some food and watch movies.
What types of food do you like to eat on New Year's Eve? Does anyone have anything that they have every year? Nope. I do know my aunt always serves a kind of fish. I think. I have no idea what it is but it's supposed to bring good luck or something like that.
I feel the same way about not wanting to start all the posts! I get bored at work during the week, but don't want to start a new post each day! I wish more of the girls that posted on TK were on here, but I guess we were the regular posters :-)
I like how some of the boards have the daily themed posts where each day of the week is a new post..

what kind of daily posts? I don't lurk much. We could always give it a try and see what happens. I'm on TTGP on TB and they have some but I don't participate much. Over there it's such a different feel then here. Also we had some on TK didn't we. I just don't remember what they were.
Christmas was good. Busy with several family events, but a good busy. Notable gifts were a Pandora bracelet with a few charms from DH and a new iPod nano from my mom. I also got some Lululemon stuff, movies, books, and some long underwear for my cold walks home!
