Cure for extremely chapped lips?
I know this doesn't really have anything to do with "married life", but I need help! My lips are SO dry and chapped. They burn and hurt so bad! Does anyone have any miracle cures for chapped lips? I've tried Carmex, Blistex, Chapstick, Ultra Balm, Vaseline and Nivea. Nothing is working. Help!
Re: Cure for extremely chapped lips?
Definitely try Burt's Bees.
It's the only one that actually makes a difference for me.
Also exfoliate. You can't moisturize dead skin.
ETA Sometimes I use a soft toothbrush when I get out of the shower to gently scrub it away. I also adore the Mary Kay satin lips set. There's probably other products out there specifically for scrubbing dead skin off your lips.
Thanks for the suggestions ladies. My hands also get very dry during the winter. I have finally found a decent hand cream. It's called ultra balm. I got it at a craft fair but you can order it online. I also got ultra balm lip balm and I'm surprised it doesn't work since the hand cream works so well. I've definitely had chapped lips in the past but never this bad!
I have used Burt's Bees in the past but not this time around. I'll try the tub of Eucerin too.
I definitely do need to exfoliate my lips. Any tips on how to do this? I don't want to use anything too harsh that might irritate them more!
This is strange but I swear by it...
Lansinoh Lanolin for breastfeeding mothers works wonders on chapped lips. It's safe to ingest (if you do by accident). You can buy a large tube at places like Target. If you want mini sizes, try samples from maternity departments at hospitals. No color. No scent. No taste.
I also rub it on my kids' cheeks and noses when they get wind or cold chapped from being outdoors.
I put it on every night before bed and I keep it in my kids' diaper bag and in my car. DH also has a tiny tube.
