First off, I want to wish everyone a Happy New Year! I hope 2013 provides many blessings for all of you
Anyway, with bringing in the New Year I'm trying to get a jump start on our spring cleaning and organizing. One goal I have is to de-clutter! I started taking down all of our Christmas decorations. This year received several cute holiday cards from friends and family. We had them displayed on our Christmas Tree, but now that the season is over, now what do we do with them? What do you do with the holiday cards you receive?
Re: Holidays are Over
I save all the traditional cards (not the photos ones) that I like and think are pretty or have sentimental meaning to me. I just slide them into a Ziploc and put them in one of the Christmas storage boxes.
My plan (when I have some more time) is to take 12 of them and cut them to size to fit in my gallery wall frames in our family room above our sofa (12 frames currently have antique botanical prints in them I dug out of a bin in an antique store). I kind of like the Christmas artwork look for a month.
The other thing I want to do is either buy or make one of those wire card display wall hanging things to attach them to.
Lastly, I might take some thick Christmas ribbon and attach the cards to that and put them over the doors or in front of a few windows.

A friend of mine gets the old school type photo albums (the ones where you peel back the clear sheet and stick your photo to the page), and puts all of her Christmas cards in those. She labels them by year, and each year she adds to the book. She keeps the album on a shelf during the year, and puts it out on her coffee table at Christmas time.
I hate throwing Christmas cards away, especially the photo cards, so I like this idea and I'm going to try it this year. I haven't looked for one of these albums yet, but my friend said you can still find them at Target, Walmart, etc.
