What type of fixture would you do?

I want this type pendant over my breakfast bar but I need help figuring out what type of fixture to put over my island and dining room.  I love the look of the drum shade fixtures for the dining room but I can't seem to make it work with these lights.  Give me some ideas please!

  • What's your style? From the looks of this I would guess very Restoration Hardware-ish. For the kitchen bar I would stick with a pendant, maybe the reverse of what you have here where it's more of a bell. I would recommend more of a frosted or colored glass so that as you talk across the island no one is being blinded by the light bulbs. Here's the style, although I'm not crazy about the swirleys:

For the dining room I think a drum pendant would be nice. It would give a warmer look but still the same style. West Elm has some which are nice and very reasonably priced:

  • Well, I would never describe my taste as "Restoration Hardware" but after doing a bit more browsing you are pretty close.  :)

I actually found a light fixture that has a drum and a bit of simple ironwork...  It is AMAZING and I so wish I could post a picture.  :)  After much searching I am still doing a couple of pendants very similar to this but a bit smaller.  They seem to blend well without being matchy match.
