resolutions? goals for 2013?

Happy new years ladies!

Anyone care to share their goals for 2013? any resolutions being kicked off today?

My personal goals include integrating fitness into my schedule again.

At the house, we hope to have repairs made to the pool, paint/decorate the family room and play room, as well as making updates to our downstairs powder room so it can be used by company and not just by Eleni (the flush is unpredictable, and the whole room reeks of a glade plug in air freshener even though such a device is no longer in the room not to mention the fixtures are pink, there is a carpet in there, and it is laid out really poorly)

At work I want to work on my focus, and improving my turn around times on projects.

Re: resolutions? goals for 2013?

  • Happy new year everyone!! :)

Goals: to start eating better.  I don't eat horribly by any means, but I could definitely do better.  I also want to start some type of workout routine, but I honestly haven't even thought about how to go about doing that yet.  So it's on my list, but I know I am the type of person who has to have a plan, or I just simply won't do it.

For the house, we want to paint the dining room.

  • Just more positive thinking. That's it, but it would help me in so many ways.

  • Happy New Year Everyone!

Personal- Since starting new job and coming back from Disney in Sept I have gain weight and it is not good. I got on the scale the other day and it was bad-- not as bad as I thought- but still BAD. I need to lose about 30 lbs. I know what to do. Just a matter of DOING IT. Exercise will be key here. Treadmill in the basement-- I am looking at you. :) ALso not sure if this falls under goal/ resolution but really need to decide this year another baby or not. DH and I are not getting any younger and it is just another year further apart DD would be from a sibling in age. Soooo. :P

professional-- once the learning curve is gone, just focusing on new job and make some strides within my department.

    :)

  • I want to be a calmer parent. My 3 1/2 year old can really get under my skin some times but I need to remember not to fly off the handle right away.  That's going to be hard to do when I'm pmsing and everything irritates me.

  • Goals - to pay off my car and my daughter's tuition this year so I can hopefully put some money away for retirement.  I have another year before I have to start paying college tuition for my son.  Sigh.

Resolutions - to try to be less stressed about life.  It is going by way too fast and I want to enjoy it.  I would love to say that I will get a new job but I doubt it will happen.

  • Start a hobby.  I am taking a sewing class this month, we'll see how that goes.

Run a 5k without walking any of it.  I started running a few months ago, but haven't pushed myself all that much because the fact that I was just attempting it was enough for me.  Now it's time to take it more seriously.  I also hope to start incorporating exercises with my kettlebells and medicine balls that I got for xmas.

Read at least 1 book a month.

Work on better sleeping habits.  I am way too much of a night owl and a horrible morning person.

Incorporate more 'fun' into the week.  I'm not exactly sure what this means, but I feel like I wish my days away to get to the weekend, and I'd like to change that.

Better date nights.  DH and I are usually pretty good about this, but a lot of our nights out center around group events, rather than just the two of us, so I'd like to plan more date nights with just us.  I think I am going to put together one of those date night packages (as seen on Pinterest) for us.

    Get pregnant.  I think.

  • Get back into an exercise routine, I had a foot issue in October and just fell out of habit. I like going, so that isn't the issue. And I think I may have committed myself to the Dirty Girl Mud Run in June, so it is a goal. I think I will stop at that, the same group is doing the Tough Mudder, I will take baby steps.

Biggest goal, get our house (and condo) ready to sell. Oh and find a house that both can agree on.

  • GOALS -Get our house done and move! I'm hoping this happens by the end of April--but the snow has started to throw a wrench into things. -Decide if this is the year for grad school. I'm thinking of enrolling for the Fall of 2013,, but am nervous to make the plunge/time commitment -Get DH's business rolling. -Disney Trip--we had thoguht about going in the spring--but are thinking with the uncertainty of knowing when the house will be done, that we will wait until fall. On a side note--if we're going to go in OCT--when is the best time to book? RESOLUTIONS: -Get the household running like a well oiled machine with regards to laundry, dishes, cleaning etc. I'm in a much happier place when things aren't a mess. It's just so hard to keep things from getting side-tracked. -Lose the rest of my toddler weight (the baby weight from Nolan is gone...all that is left is weight I gained with Brinley) At the end of last year I signed up for our gym at work. Now I just need to mek the ocmmitment to work through lunch and stop working at 4 to get down there and work out. -Have more fun. 2012 was a hard and stressful year. I really felt that we were just trying to survive it.

  • There are a few areas where I?ve had some success in 2012, and I want to continue it into 2013. I think the theme is ?Finishing what I?ve started?. ;-)

1 ? From August to mid-December I lost 10 pounds. Thankfully, I only gained 1 back in the last two weeks ? woot. Ultimately, I?d like to be about 55 pounds lighter than where I started, but I don?t have to lose it all this year. I?d like to see continued progress and at least get down 1-2 pant sizes. The goal is to change my eating habits in a way that is sustainable long term.

2 ? I?ve been working on house organization. Purging things we don?t need, making places for things to go, organizing things we want to keep, making it easier for the kids to do things for themselves. The house is better, but there is still more to do. I would love to get a few more rooms painted and I need to finish organizing my office and paperwork.

(Example: Yesterday?s accomplishment was archiving, recycling or trashing all of the kid artwork in the house. Woo! And I have an empty Rubbermaid bin so I can dump it on a nightly basis and won?t have to sort again until this summer.)

3 ? I?m hopeful that more organization will lead to more fun during the week (board games or legos after dinner) and getting myself to bed at a more reasonable hour. And eventually some time to exercise.

4 ? I have about a dozen knitting and crochet designs in various stages of writing and several long-term works in progress. I would really like to clear the decks and finish what I?ve started, so when a new idea comes to me I can pursue it without feeling bad.

  • Goals:

    1. Purge and organize our house and STAY organized. We're really good at doing this, then letting it all go to sh*t about a month later. This time, we're sticking with it.

    2. Eat better, try to incorporate exercise into my daily routine again. I've lost all of my Gabriel weight, but my body is totally different. I was in the best shape of my life when I got pregnant. Now I'm doughy. I just have absolutely no time to do this b/c of Casey's work schedule. I really don't want to workout at 9:00 at night - it's bad enough that I eat dinner then (which is probably partially why I'm doughy!). I have no idea HOW I will find the time to exercise, but I'm really going to try.

    3. Make and freeze meals on the weekends so that I can actually eat a healthy, home made meal for dinner during the week. Peanut butter sandwiches and cereal are no longer cutting it.

    4. Get on a better schedule with household chores so that I'm not having marathon laundry/cleaning days. I've started to make some progress in this area already.

    Good luck everyone!
