Pittsburgh Nesties
Dear Community,
Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.
If you have questions about this, please email help@theknot.com.
Thank you.
Note: This only affects The Nest's community members and will not affect members on The Bump or The Knot.
Can anyone recommend? We live in the Irwin area. All suggestions are appreciated. Thank you so much.
Re: Marriage Counseling
I don't know of any specific resources, but you could check out http://www.twogetherpgh.org/ They should be able to help you identify someone in your area. Or, if you're open to it, call a local church. A pastor may be willing to sit down with you for a basic chat, and may have some referrals. (But, since we pastor types vary greatly in our training and approaches to life in general, use your gut instinct. If you're not comfortable with someone, then politely move on.)
Way to go getting help, though! Marriage is really hard and takes a lot of work. I'll be praying that you find someone that you're comfortable with an can help you work through any rough patches!
Some health insurance carriers have a mental health helpline and can refer you to counselors. You might want to check to see if your insurance has that service. That's how I found a therapist who also happened to do marriage counseling.

I can't say enough good things about her! DH and I see her separately for our own issues but about once a month we do a joint session to talk about us / our marriage.
She mostly only has evening and Saturday appts. but she is there all day on Mondays. (She also works at Seton Hill and at a counseling place in Wilkinsburg)
