my husband and i work during the day and our girl is crated while we are gone ( i come home at lunch to give her a break and take her out) so we try to get her a good amount of exercise morning and night. she is an american bulldog (maybe boxer mixed in) and can have a lot of energy so i dont want to have her all pent up in her crate...but sometimes she is just NOT a morning puppy! she snores and even when i open her crate when im making breakfast she doesn't come out...she wags, lifts her head to say hi and goes back to sleep! (this is about an hour after my husband has fed her and taken her out for a little 15 minute walk before he leaves for work) should i make her walk again? sometimes she doesn't want to go with him either so she doesn't really get a walk besides around our yard in the AM?
how much do i let her dictate the exercise she gets in the morning? (keep in mind she normally gets almost an hour of walks and fetch at night)
Re: should i make my dog walk if she is tired?

Agreed. Our 8 y/o has been getting us up @ the crack of dawn rearing to go since he was a puppy....of course this was the routine MH established w/him since the day we got him for the exact reasons you are concerned about your dog getting enough exercise...Anyway we just adopted a 14 y/o & she is NOT a morning person Lol!
Cooper will come into our room every morning & wake MH up & they will be noisy & eventually leave & go for a walk. Taylor doesn't budge from her bed! Part of it is that she is pretty much deaf, so she doesn't hear them, but even when I get up & turn the bedroom light on & am moving around ::right:: in front of her face, even pushing her bed out of the way so I can open the closet...its not until I physically move her bed that she lifts her head up & looks at me & wags her tail, but its a good couple of minutes before she physically gets her body up off the bed!
Of course she's 14, so our situation is quite a bit different than yours! Even still I wouldn't be apt to worry since your pup is getting atleast some sort of exercise before she's crated for the day. Its surprising how much of a difference even 15 minutes makes as opposed to nothing! Plus like PP's said, she is getting a break during the day & a nice long walk after work. Sounds to me like you are doing everything right for her
