I have to provide a snack for dd's class (15 kids) about once a month. I could really use some suggestions for snacks to send it. We eat pretty healthy at home but I want to send something that appeals to all the kids. I ended up just sending goldfish crackers in last time but I know they get those alot. My girls like yogurt covered raisins but I don't know if other kids would like those.
Re: Preschool snacks
Our preschool requests a fruit and a grain. I usually send in fresh fruit - apple slices, blueberries, pear slices, orange sections, etc. I've also sent in dried fruit or applesauce cups.
For the grain I send whole wheat bunnies, whole grain cereal, veggie chips or multi-grain pita chips.
My kids like the little fruit cups, oranges/applesauce, etc. I get the ones without HFCS. Goldfish are always a big hit and so is cheese and crackers. My DD likes yogurt and chocolate covered raisins (DS is too little). Veggie straws are a big hit. Dried cranberries. Graham crackers; yogurt; clementines; cookies.
DD likes veggies and dip--but she's a more adventurous eater than some.
Our school has not regulations and now one in the class with allergies.
They said at orientation they said "We don't make the kids eat the snack- if you send carrots you might be getting them back, let's face it we all love sweets"
I have sent: Oatmeal cookies, cutout halloween cookies, cupcakes (which they actually decorated at the halloween party) gobs- all homemade
Things DC has brought home un finished: Chex mix. Apple Jax.
Things he has told me they had: animal crackers, nutrigrain bars, fruit snacks, goldfish, pretzels.
