SO toys: Furby owners

DD is having a fit b/c her Furby's personality changed and it doesn't seem to be changing back. She's now talking in a different voice (it sounds like an angry Asian accent) and she has fire in her eyes.

Has anyone else's done this? Anyone know how to get them to change back? Or is everything they do totally random?

Re: SO toys: Furby owners

  • I have no idea, but this sorta makes me laugh. I hope the evil furby is exercised of its demons soon.
  • And, I just found a review that suggests that the furby gets pissy when you don't take care of it. so.... its her fault Wink
  • I know, I was amused too until Lanna became inconsolable over it and now I'm just annoyed :) She definitely plays with it more than Wes plays with his, so I'm surprised if that's the reason! We'll have to try giving her some extra lovin this weekend.
  • Did she give it water after midnight?  Sounds like a gremlin problem to me.

water makes them multiply Emmy... food makes them evil.  Get your gremlin care straight!  We can't risk the consequences of mistakes being made!

LOL, you're right.  What a mistake that would have been.  Mandy--just let her know absolutely no food OR drink after midnight, unless she wants to be responsible for the care of evil, multiplying furbies.

  • HA! This is too much too remember. I can't be held responsible for controlling the world's population of evil, hungry, neglected Furbies with fiery eyes and angry tones!
  • we have one- he has not became evil, but he hasn't changed really yet either.  For the most part" Furb" seems happy. His English isn't great but he did tell Adam he gave a "Good Hug" yesterday.

It is my understanding that when they "change" they stay that way. That they only evolve. You MAY beable to change yours from evil with better care, but when they "become" someone, as far as voice and style and stuff three is any turning back.

  • Great! How do you care for them? Just wake them more? Lanna's not mean to hers when it's awake.

you have to pet them and hug them. Adam's likes his head rubbed, hugs and seems to like to listen to music and sing and dance. I read on something that they will respond to you and music and stuff but do better with no background noise.

You feed them.  If they say they are hungry you put your finger in the mouth to feed them. OR you can get an app for them that is free, and they you can feed them things from that and I have no idea what else it does for them I haven't used it but Adam was feeding his a TON with it the other day...

Supposedly the more you talk to them the more English they will use and the less Furbish.

  • We've done all of this! Even the app. Especially with Lanna's. I didn't realize Furby ownership was so high pressure!

  • You can reset it completely.  Take the battery pack off.  Look where Furby's tail is and then to the left is a little reset button-you need a tothpick to push it in.  Anyway, hold it's tongue down and then push the reset button for 2-3 seconds-the Furby should go back to it's normal self.  It's not good to completely reset it all of the time.  I had to do a re-start because it dies (restart is just pushing the button not holding the tongue down).  And yes, I too have an inconoslable Furby owner so I know way too much on Furby's.  P.S. If you can't find the reset button-you tube has videos showing you where it is.
  • Wait it DIES? Like not the batteries die, but the Furby itself dies?

    Thank you for the info...

  • Yeah-it just went completely asleep and wouldn't wake up, even with new batteries.  Its eyes were grey and it wouldn't do anything even if you pulled its tail or turned it upside down.  I had to research and find out if I needed to take it back.  Thankfully it happened to other people.  But for the price of it, it shouldn't do that..lol..I got hers online and she loves the color so I didn't want to have to search it down again
  • Ok so this thread has me laughing (sorry Mandy!). Wow there is so much to know about being a furby owner!!!

That is crazy. My dogs don't require that much care.
