Replacing toilet seats

DH and I and aren't buying or selling but I hear so many people on here talk about replacing toilet seats being the first thing they do when they move into a new place. This may sound  odd  but can anyone rec. their toilet seat? Between our two bathrooms we have gone through at least six seats in less than two years. They either break, split, or the finish chips. I've gotten them from all different stores and all different kinds.

Re: Replacing toilet seats

  • We've had no issues with Top Seat brand, bought the 3D ones online. (topseatusa.com)
  • Really?  I have never had any toilet seat break, chip, or split and we have been homeowners for a long time.  Are you being rough on them?  Installed correctly?

They are installed correctly. The kids are somewhat rough on theirs. I have kids potty training and the lid get slammed sometimes but they never use our bathroom and those have issues too.  I also don't use harsh cleaners so that isn't the issue either.

  • I'm no help but wow... that's crazy that you go through them so quickly!
  • We got ours at Home Depot. I don't remember the brand, but it's a soft closing one. You can't slam it when it put it down it just goes down slowly. It's light plastic too so the kids shouldn't have a hard time lifting it at all either.
