I'm so frustrated

I just need to vent:

So technically, H is still in the Army.  He doesn't get paid, but he doesn't have his discharge papers.  From my understanding every court martial goes through appeals court.  His appeals attorney (different from his trial attorney) is actually trying to get the WHOLE case dismissed.  H is bad about relaying the details, but it would be awesome if it did.  It was suppose to take 6 months from May.  We are obviously beyond that now.  Almost a year since his trial.

H is laid off and I'm looking into unemployment until he gets work (still waiting for the job to officially give him the job pending the drug test and background check).  Even then it'll be a week or two until he gets paid from it.

Well he needs his discharge papers to file an unemployment claim.  So now we are out that money too in the meantime.

I really and truly give up.

Re: I'm so frustrated

  • if it was Ben is Jeff's situation I would freak out.  have you freaked out on Jeff? haha.

make him take care of all of this!

  • Is there any way that he can get discharge papers or something from the Army stating that he is not "working" for them? I'm not sure how it would work in your case but when I filed for unemployment I got money based on my last job and the amount of time that I had been laid off. Maybe he could just call and see if he would be eligible. Hope it works out for you!
  • Oh Mana.... It's just one thing after another. I'm so sorry!! I don't know what to say...

  • Big A - no, because he's already really down about the whole job thing, even with the driving test going well Wednesday.  He hasn't been coming to bed until 2am and I know he's just downstairs worrying.  I kinda had a breakdown at my desk, but I'm trying to be positive for him. I told him to call his attorney like NOW

Maryland needs proof of discharge if you were in the military in the past 18 months.  He had a memo for something saying he's still technically in, but not getting paid.  Maybe they will take that...

  • I know this is a tough situation, but something you said really stood out to me.  You said you were looking into unemployment.  Can I ask why he wasn't looking into himself?
