anyone have experience w. a crackle pain they used?  it ended up looking distressed. i was so impressed and she said it was very simple

Re: crackle/distressed paint? what brand?

  • I've done this with some of my furniture.

I honestly don't recall the brand, but at our local Lowe's it's sold in the aisle with specialty paints. The brand I used came in a cream colored plastic container with a handle on it, sort of like an orange gasoline can.

I just googled and found this, so it may have been by Valspar:

You have to have 2 tones of paint, the under coat, which goes on first. This is the coat that will "peek through" the cracks. Then you paint the crackle paint over it, then the 3rd coat is the primary color you want to end up with.

It's pretty easy to work with, I've done tables, wooden boxes, the frame of a mirror.

    Good luck.
