Re: First Valentine's Day As Husband And Wife!

  • Yay a post! It's so dead on here!

We haven't made any plans yet. Maybe just something simple like a date night and just spending time together.

  • We usually don't make plans until the day before. In the past we've had our Valentine's dinner on the 15th, so we don't have to worry about the crowds. I am excited though for our first married Valentine's day! Wink
  • No plans here yet....if we end up going out to eat we will probably wait until the weekend (since DH has a crazy Feb. schedule since he is helping direct the pit of the school's musical).  I am excited that it will be our first married Valentine's Day...makes me want to do something a little more special.

  • I stopped checking in as much because it has been so dead. I thought it was only me for a while. :(

I wish we could all be a little more active.

As far as Valentine's day we don't have any official plans yet. We both requested the day off from work so I was thinking of going biking on a nature trail and maybe having a picnic afterwards. Maybe a romantic dinner to follow.

Only problem is, H biked to the store yesterday and his bike was stolen. :(:(:( So I'll have to see if I can pull the funds together and maybe buy him a new one as a Valentine's gift.

  • Like pp, we usually wait until a few days after to go out because everything is always so busy (unless we make a reservation and we both forget stuff like that).  We honestly like to just stay in, make a good meal with some wine at home, and enjoy each other, then go to dinner later that week.  It's been exciting going through each holiday as a married couple though!

  • Valentine's Day still seems really far off right now. I don't think we'll do anything too crazy. We might cook a special meal at home, paired with a nice wine.

  • I just found out that I will probably be working until 8pm on Valentines day! YAY... not!
  • We may just have dinner at home. H & I are looking for a new house and we are saving for a baby, so we may keep it low key to not spend an arm and leg. H asked what to get me for it, since flowers are so expensive, I told him no and to use the money for a gift card for clothes

  • I haven't put any thought into the Valentine's Day.

I really love flowers but not candy. Perhaps if he asks,  I will say a tradition French (as in from France) style King Cake. Mardi Gras 9 days away, so I think that would be a reasonable request. There is a French bakery near our home. This king cake would be different from the usual, incredibly sweet and sugary ones in my area.

Oh and maybe I could convince him to watch a romantic comedy.
