Random awesome cooking tip

I thought I'd share one of my most favorite cooking "tricks" for ground beef.

Trader Joe's (and some other stores) sell meat free chorizo in their vegan section. I use it to add to ground beef as a seasoning with texture. It blends right in with the meat and just gives it soooo much flavor. It's slightly spicy.

Just throught I'd share  :)

Re: Random awesome cooking tip

  • this intrigues me, especially since I've never used real chorizo. what types of recipes do you use it it? Or just anything with ground beef?

  • This sounds tasty. I haven't tried this specific product but I LOVE chorizo.

  • The meat free chorizo is really just a bunch of seasoning. You can add it to your ground beef for spaghetti sauce. I also love making this dish where I fry the beef with the vegan chorizo, add strips of fresh peppers and 2-3 thinly sliced leeks. Add a little beef broth and cook it until veggies are tender. Serve over rice.
