Boo

This board is sucking as bad as the knot for me. :(

I've got today off and I'm going to the social security office to change my name! Yay!

Re: Boo

  • make sure you have a state issued marriage license, and not a church license.

when i went to ss to change my name, I had the license we signed in the church. I didn't realize that it wasn't worth anything. I waited in line for an hour only to find out that I needed to walk over to city hall and get a copy of our state license.

  • I got married in the courthouse, so no worries there. The state license is the only one I have. I'm not looking forward to spending my day there and at the DMV. But it's been one year, 6 months and 16 days since I've been married, so I think it's time, ha.

  • I plan to have it finished by my second wedding anniversary, ha.

  • it took me more than a year to get ss changed, about 1.75 to get license and credit cards changed

  • oh p.s. barvie, the clear nail polish on my earrings worked like a charm. Thanks!
