Yoga

Tomorrow is my first day of Bikram Hot Yoga. Does anyone else enjoy this type of yoga?

Re: Yoga

  • I LOVE, and I mean LOVE, the hot yoga studio I go to. I usually do the hot yoga class that involves weights as well but the regular hot yoga classes are super good too. As gross as it may sound I think it feels so good to sweat like that for an hour. I wish I could go more often but I love to run too and it gets expensive! I bought one of the special yoga towels that has grippies on the bottom and goes over my mat too because all that sweat can make your yoga mat really slippery. Drink lots of water afterwards too!

I love it, the only problem is the studio only has 90 min. classes. I tried to leave after and hour and the instructor was really annoyed.

That's very common and expect that reaction at almost any yoga studio. If, for some reason, you MUST leave early, they want you to inform the instructor before class and park your spot near the door that way you don't distract/disturb other people that are focused on their breathing and/or meditating.

  • Yes, I am doing Bikram yoga since two months.

I took bikram yoga class for one month, now I am doing it at my home without any class.

Bikram yoga is an excellent exercise for the mental, and physical health.

It helped me a lot to improve my fitness, body strength and stamina.

It also helped me to get rid of various diseases.

  • Bring a towel, bring some cold water, and if you start feeling light headed, then take a rest. It is really hot in there and you are going to sweat a lot. Some people say they have gotten sick after the first few times, but that didn't usually happen.

  • I recently went to my chiropractor in Minneapolis because I was having some back pain. He suggested I try hot yoga. Apparently normal yoga doesn't do as good of a job loosening up your muscles to relieve tension. So I tried hot yoga once a week and my back pain was almost completely gone after 2 sessions. Now I go three times a week.
