Chalk board paint

Hi! I usually post on the Bump but I think that you guys may be able to answer my question better than them. I'm decorating my daughter's room and I'm considering making a part of the wall a chalkboard with chalkboard paint. My question is, how easily can you paint over that stuff? Any input you have is appreciated. TIA!!!

Re: Chalk board paint

  • When you want to paint over the chalkboard paint area after your daughter grows up, you will need to put on a primer first before the top coat.   We used a primer designed to go over dark colors because the chalkboard area was black.
  • We've painted over chalkboard paint and as you use a good primer, it's not too hard to cover it up.  The chalkboard wall is super fun for the little ones, btw. :)
