Ahh, I am so frustrated! The linoleum in our bathroom started to peel up a bit, and when we looked, there was a bit of mold. So I called the builders and they said they would not fix it because it was from a leak in the shower, and that is maintenance. They said we are supposed to replace the caulking every 3 months! I f-ing hate beazer.
They didn't fix our gas leak the first time around, and I just got a "well, it slipped though the cracks" Umm, my house could have exploded and killed us all! Now they are refusing to remedy their shoddy work! I've been getting letters from a law firm because a few homeowners are suing beazer for repairs they are refusing to fix. It does not surprise me.
DH was going to cut out the mold himself since it seemed contained to a small area, but once we lifted up the lino, and took of the baseboard, it has spread and is probably under the stall shower and bathtub.
I'm now waiting for my homeowners insurance claim adjuster to come take a look at it, so I can get the boys out of the house. Thankfully the insurance should pay for it, but we still have a $2000 deductible! This really sucks, we've been really trying to put money aside incase DH work slows down. I am hoping maybe my insurance will chase beazer for the money. I'm just praying we've not been breathing in toxic mold the past couple of years, along with natural gas! I hope there will be no longterm effect on my boys.
Re: Urgh! First a gas leak, now mold!
Man, SOrry you are going through this. ?You should contact that attorney to find out if you can be on the list for any future repairs that may be needed due to the builders faulty work!
Also, I haven't heard of a shower/bath needing to be?re-caulked?every 3 mos.?
OMG!!! I am so sorry you have to deal with all this! Big Hugs! As for your beautiful boys...have you called the pedi? I would just to talk to someone about all your concerns. It may be nothing to worry about, but for piece of mind, you know.
I hope this ends the house's building whoas. Sorry again! XOXOXO
OMG that's just awful. I am so sorry you have to go through all of that mess; not to mention the financial aspect of it all. Ugh. I hope you're able to recover some of that deductible if your insurance company does go after the builder.
