My Kitty

I'm hoping there's nothing too serious wrong with her.  I take her to the vet this afternoon at 5:15 to find out.  For the past week, she's been having extremely loose stools, and not making it to the litter box for her stools.  She does pee in litter box (so I'm thankful for that!).  Last week she didn't seem like her normal self.  She would "hide" in the corners...basically lay in random corners of the house, so she wasn't exactly hiding.  She also seemed a little more willing to cuddle.  She would lay in my arms while I would be in the bed with a blanket covering her and stay put for awhile.  Normally she would get away from me if I tried to cuddle with her too much haha.  She's a very friendly cat, so I like snuggling her.

I was going to call the vet yesterday if I noticed more loose stools yesterday morning.  All day Sunday (minus when we woke up) and when we woke up yesterday, I didn't see any loose stools, so I thought she was getting better.  This morning, I woke up to more loose stools, and this time it had blood in it.  :-(  I'm hoping nothing too serious is wrong with her!

We moved 2 months ago, so I don't think it's the stress of the new home since it just started happening.  She had worms and I took her to the vet in November before we moved.  I'm wondering if they didn't all go away??

Hoping for the best this afternoon!!

  • Poor thing! It sounds like it could be worms (parasitic). I doubt it's the stress as 2 months later she should be fine. Let us know what the vet says!

    That's what I was thinking since it's 2 months later.   We'll see!

Right now she's locked in our huge bathroom with her litter box, food, and water.  As well as a towel on our garden tub ledge that is huge for her to lay on (since she likes getting up there anyways)  I felt bad for putting her in there when we left this morning, since I could hear her crying at the door, but needed to so we wouldn't have it on the carpet anymore.

  • Aw, keep us posted on what the vet says. I highly doubt stress would cause blood in the stools. Could be some parasites still left or something...
  • Awww! I'm so sorry! We had a sick kitty not that long ago and waiting for a diagnosis was terrifying! Sending T & Ps your way!
  • Everything came back normal! So, the vet is thinking inflammation in the GI tract.  She got some injections and antibiotics.
