I want to lose weight and be healthy=)

Hello ladies,

I  haven't been on the nest in ages but I am back to try to get me going on losing weight and start being healthy. I am a SAHM, I have 3 kids ages 7,3, and 1. 2 Boys and 1 girl. DH and I are done having kids and so I am serious now about losing weight and being healthy especially for my kids. I will post my weight here and keep updating once I have reached my goal of losing 30 lb. I am doing Turbo Jam videos, at least 3 times during the week and will be doing the treadmill too when I don't do turbo Jam. I am taking Visalus shakes to help me  be energized and to help me lose weight.=)

Starting Weight is 156 lb

I want to be at least 126 lb.

Anyone else want to join me or give me ideas what else I can do to start this journey... TIA

  • Congratulations on working to lose the weight! It sounds like you have a good plan in place. I'm not sure how feasible this would be for you and your family, but I found that not eating super processed foods (meals from a box, etc) helped me lose weight a lot faster. I understand that making everything from scratch isn't always an option, but try to incorporate more veggies into meals and lower some of the other things (in pastas- less meat and more veggies).

Good luck and keep us posted!

  • If you don't already, consider calorie counting with a web site like myfitnesspal.com or sparkpeople...it gives you a better picture of what you should eat and how much to safely and healthily lose weight.

  • I am also a SAHM and a college student.  I am also trimming down since I have had my son.  My husband and I do P90X 6 days a week during our sons nap.  We both already see a difference after only month.

Just remember to eat right as well as work out in order to get optimum results.

Plus the healthier you are, this is great for your kids because they pick up habits from you, and this is one of the best habits for them to pick up, as well as the exercise giving you more energy for them.

Good Luck on you health and weight loss journey!  Just remember to stick to it and even if you don't feel like working out one day (for me that's every day) do it anyways because once you get started you get really into it.

  • Also, I know it's winter but whenever it warms up, play so many sports and games with your kids, I have found through babysitting that just simply playing outdoors in your free time is a great exercise for you and really fun bonding time for them.

  • Eat healthy and balanced foods and do regular exercise in your daily routine for the healthy life.

You should focus on cardio exercises, do jogging, running, swimming, and cycling in your daily workout routine and also take more veggies foods in your daily diet for the quick weight loss.

  • Congrats on getting healthy! You know, my husband really struggled with weight. Even though he biked miles and miles every day and ate well, he couldn't shed anything...super frustrating for him. He started a 90 day weight-loss challenge through Zeal for Life, and lost 12 of those difficult pounds in 14 days! I love it because it's whole foods based, and good for him! IM me if you want more info!
  • While you're displeased with the increased body fats you're containing around, you're not very much. Shedding weight is a slow-going plan, however with frequent modifications with short increases in the method you try eating, and you?ll very soon be placed on your path to a healthy and balanced unique body shape.
