Food advice

My daughter is having a "gym" birthday party that will be 1.5 hours long.  At the gym we will have cake, pizza, fruit and water and we will not be opening gifts there. I know some of the family members might want to see her open gifts so I'm going to invite everyone back to our house.  Should I have more food here?  There will be about 15 adults plus kids.

Re: Food advice

  • i would serve coffee/tea and perhaps some cookies or other light "after meal" type snack.  Perhaps have some juice on hand for the kids just in case.
  • Why do that to yourself?  The BEST part about having a kid's birthday party NOT at your house is that it saves you some work preparing food and getting the house ready!  :)   How old is your daughter, will it just take too long to open presents at the gym?

But, if you think that coming back to the house is best, then yes, I would have a few snacks.  I don't think it has to be anything fancy, but some pita and hummus with celery sticks would be nice.  Maybe some pop and ice (and beer if you guys drink).   If there is any leftover cake, you can set it out.  I'll bet it will disappear quickly!  If your family is anything like mine, once they are invited over, there is no way anyone is leaving for at least three hours!
